Arlene, I just had a recent hospital stay. They usually do all they can for you, but their limitations are in the fact of the sheer numbers they are feeding each day, many with life and death threatening food choices. My advice is to let them know your needs, but then eat carefully.
I looked over my tray at each meal and decided what I could and couldn't eat. If I ever have to go in again I have instructed family to bring me foods from home that I can have.
I have a supply of homemade stuff in the freezer for just in case now. My ultimate goal is never to go there again, but surgeries and emergencies could still happen.

I had a terrible day yesterday and was totally expecting an up scale. Wow. I will take it and run and thank whatever scale god decided not to punish me this time. I checked it 3 times and got the same number.

I didn't take my meds before bed last night and my weight is down this morning. I'm not going to take them unless the pain is really bad.

I'm not completely trusting my scale right now. First weigh showed a huge gain, second weigh showed a huge loss, third was finally reasonable, so I going with it. By huge I am talking 10-20lbs.

Pain is no fun!
Thank you everyone for your input and encouragement!
The scale is not my friend right now, but I feel as if my abdomen is full of spiked marbles at the moment, which is probably the fibroids filling with blood/fluid and not able to escape
I have been up 3 lbs for three days in a row even though I am continuing to stay true to my eating plan. Right now I am going to stay on track but not get down by what the scale says. I wore a pair of pants today that used to be pretty tight and they are quite loose now, so that is an indication that I am not truly gaining fat, just fluids.
I am not giving up, just traveling parallel to my oringinal goal until surgery on the 28th.

My progress is getting slow-and-steady now, but still moving in the right direction after losing fluid/bloat from last week. Very very close to the next mini-goal (175 lbs) and basically on-track for this month so far, which is great!
Debbie: Looking good! Whoo! It's funny, the weight you're at now is the weight I'd love to be for final goal/maintenance!
