How do I stop night eating??

I do good all day, I eat a few meals, I run at least 8 miles a day and then at night I ruin it all. And it's not all just before I got to bed eating. I'll wake up at 2am and munch on rice cakes and whatever else I can get my hands on that doesn't alert anyone that I'm eating. It's driving me insane and I don't know how to make it stop. I keep water and crystal lite by the bed so i can just drink if I wake up... but I don't. I eat eat eat eat...

I have the same exact problem( I don't exercise quite as much, but am working up). I just started my weight loss journey again, but have had this issue for as long as I can remember.

try eating something high in protein before bed, like an egg, chicken, etc. The protein will help keep you feeling fuller longer.

Do you drink plenty of water? Sometimes we can feel "hungry" when really we're thirsty.

I have the same problem, my system is backward! I am not at ALL hungry in the morning (when we fat people are told is the most important time to eat), in fact I'm usually a bit nauseated, and only gradually get hungrier as the day goes on. It's super frustrating. If only my system worked the other way 'round, I could be a size 2!!!

Anyway, when the nighttime hungries strike me, I try just drinking some water and frankly I just have to ignore them. Luckily for me, unlike you, once I've fallen asleep, I won't be hungry if I wake up in the nighttime. It's just those evening hours that are hard.

Sometimes we have to just gut it out and ignore it. Oh! I just thought of something that helps me a lot also, good tasting herbal tea. Bengal Spice is phenomenal for helping trick my body into thinking I've just eaten something super yummy.

Thank God I don't have the habit of eating at night. Although I had my early dinner at 6pm I don't feel hungry at all because I keep on drinking water until I'm off to bed. There are times wherein I wake up at 3am but I don't think I'm hungry, instead I drink water again.

Totally feel you. Night time is hard for me as well. Just my two cents, but since you are running 8 miles a day it is possible that your body may need more calories to fuel that awesome work out.... What really helps me is to plan a "binge" save some calories, pack up some measured amounts of things you crave at night, and snack away! Maybe eating extra fruits and veggies during the day when you feel in control, and saving yourself those previous calories for your midnight snack! :) make it something you look forward to rather than something you try to fight and dread.
