The easy answer is don't buy them, but I don't live alone. The wife
says she should not be forced to give up chips just because I have a problem
with them. She does not have a weight problem. How can I break this addiction?
Yes this is much more than a bad habit.

Lard.
Have discovered edame in the shell, frozen section. . .with sea salt. Picksweet used to make it in a small box, but the bag can be steamed. . .I measure it out then use a microwave Tupperware.
The salt is on the shell, so when you get the edame it's a nice blend of crunch and a good salt.
Good luck!

Never married, so this is bad advice. . .Have the wife buy 1 individual bag at a time. . .remind her she is saving your life. . .I think she'll like the edame with sea salt!

You can probably eat Baked Kale Chips. People rave about this recipe and say it is the best substitute for potato chips.

If your wife smoked and you were trying to give up smoking, would she smoke in front of you? Ask her if that would happen, and what she would think of that situation. Then discuss.

Are you going to tell us how you beat the chip addiction?

I hear you. I am a man too and love salty and crunchy. My wife loves Ice Cream. I can leave that milky stuff alone for weeks.

I have gone to Pop Chips which are fewer calories. If you have to buy them yourself, do so and tell your wife that these are for you and not her. She will probably start eating your chips since they taste really great.

Kudos to you for avoiding chips for so long! Even though salty things are not typically one of my cravings, I have discovered Special K Cracker Chips. They come in potato chip flavors and taste similar to Pringles or baked chips, they have only 110 calories and 2.5 grams fat for 27 chips. And, best of all for me, not only do they taste good, they make me fill full!

I used to be addicted to potato chips myself. I've found that if you slice a cucumber really thin, then add salt, you'll find these are better than chips.
