Default Cool Down Foods

How about some really refreshing, easy to prepare options. Here's one -

Get a pint of blueberries (they are in season in New England right now, maybe a friend picked some and brought them to you....)

Put in a container in the freezer (don't wash first - if you do, they form a blob in the freezer).

Grab a handful, wash in cold water, consume. They are great to suck on, far better than hard candy, cold on your toungue...YUM

Or, mix with yogurt and you get the soft and hard contrast.

Default our cool off treat

Frozen blueberries and grapes are tasty. Man, how I love blueberries.
Peaches are in right now in Alabama (blueberries too I just don't have any). After you cut a few ripe, in season fruits..either peaches, cantaloupes, watermelon, etc you should have a plate of fruit juice leftover. We mix whatever is left on the plate with yogurt and milk and freeze into popsicles. My almost 3 yr old daughter loves them.

Lemons, cucumbers, or oranges sliced into you cold water is refreshing. They will last a day or two in a jug of water in the fridge. Mary
