Plus, it wouldn't surprise me to see that the person/company who came up with the notion of eating 6 meals a day was one that sold their food to dieters.

Eating 6 times a day is a bodybuilding thing. It's for INCREASING weight through muscle gain AND fat gain. Later the bodybuilder will cut the fat through very restrictive dieting. 6 times a day was never a plan for people who want to just lose weight. It has become a major marketing gimmick.
Three meals a day plus a good snack is the best basic feeding pattern. There are many metabolic issues created by frequent feedings if done incorrectly. Calories in, calories out = weight loss. If you need more than three squares and a snack, do it and watch what you eat to see if you are still losing. |
