Default Low sodium Pea Soup

Lapsang Souchong Tea (I'll check the spelling on that, but any good tea shop will know what you mean when you say Lapsang.)
1 cup split green or yellow peas
1 potato
1 onion
1 carrot
1 cup celery
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. thyme

Steep tea using 5 cups water. Remove leaves. Rinse peas.

Place peas and tea in a pot. Bring to a boil and simmer covered for 1 hour. Add chopped vegetables and spices. Cover and simmer another 1 hour. Cool enough to blend into a puree.

All the taste, low sodium. Serves 4.

Default Sounds delicious

Thank you Rainbow24. I too have a heart condition and must watch my sodium and no more than between 1000 to 1500 mg of Na daily. I love pea soup and will try this!
