Welcome to the forums.
Sandy, AFAIK that's the only way to get to a past date. I used FitDay back in '01 and I just kept hitting those month arrows to go back and see my past success (what a dope I was not to have maintained that loss!).
There may be an easier way with the PC version, IDK, but both "free" and "premium" make you go month by month.
