Post More Nutrient Types for Custom Foods

This is for Fitday classic.

Most “nutrition facts” labels do not include many of the nutrients tracked by Fitday, or are present in the food!

To improve the accuracy of your custom foods, always start by typing in the generic name for the custom food you want to create in the "Food Search", then click on the name of the food (not the “add to food log” button).

When the page for that food opens type in the serving size shown on the nutrition facts in the "Amount" window, then click on “Customize This Food”.

Then you change the name to the name of your custom food, and update all the amounts that are shown on the nutrition facts label. The others just leave alone. Then save the food and add it to your log. Once it is in your log you can adjust the quantity to what you ate from the serving size amount.

Accuracy is an interesting topic. Nothing is ever really “accurate”, there is only more accurate and less accurate. Since using the “create custom food” button leaves all nutrients not shown on the label as “zero”, this method is more accurate than zero. If you have better information, use it.
