Android App?

is the re a fitday app for the new Droid phone?

MaggieG123 01-07-2010 02:53 AM

I would love to see this as well! In the meantime, I am able to access the full website from my Droid, I just have to zoom in and such. But it works. So once I syn my web account with my PC version, I'm able to access my data on the go. It's not idea, sure, but it works. A real app would be SO much better though. :)

chetfreeman 02-18-2010 03:22 AM

I have just begun tracking my food and exercise and I am trying to determine which program to use. My nutritionist recommended this one, but I need to track sodium and the free version one does not seem to do it and I can't find whether the premium or the PC version will do it and I am not willing to shell out $60 just to find out.

I am using an Android app for two other trackers. One android app was free, the other $2.99. They have barcode scanning capability which is a real plus. They also sync to the website.

Need a Fitday Android app

I've just started tracking my food intake with Fitday, and one thing that would make it vastly easier would be a simple app to add foods into my food log.
Any Android devs here who fancy giving it a bash? I'd pay for this and so would others I expect :-)

EDIT: I see an app discussion is already ongoing in the forum...

faithlandsman 09-28-2010 04:09 AM

Ridiculous!!!

I cannot believe that FitDay still does not have an Android app. What's the deal people??? It's a shame because I love fitday but I'm going to have to switch to Calorie Counter or SparkPeople because I can track on my Droid X.

drmarkandersen 10-04-2010 12:58 AM

I agree completely. The other Android apps that attempt to do similar things are practically useless.

wfwilsonii 10-09-2010 01:01 PM

Another Android user looking for the app

I have been on Fit Day since early this year and have enjoyed the features. I share the information with my trainer and my doc. I have just made the transition to the new smart phone aka Android. I used to have a Samsung with MS on it and found it was really useful, so was happy to upgrade to the Android. It would be terrific if FitDay added an Android app.

Android app in discussion?

ok - haven't found that yet, but would LOVE to have this on my phone!
I am just making the transition to Android - AND LOVE IT!!!
I am not stranded if there is no internet anymore -!
would pay a couple bucks, but i imagine the success of fit day as is would just spread faster with an android app.

here's to fit days awesome website and incredible help to me to stay clear about my food/excercise balance.:)

FitDay app for Android?

Is there an app for Android in the making? I love FitDay, but since I'm always on the go, I need something to take on my phone. I don't really want to switch to any of the others that have Android apps--they're not as good as FitDay!

asisson68 01-15-2011 12:43 PM

Droid App

I don't think so but I am trying to see if there is one in the works. I just met w/ my trainer today and this is the program of choice he wants me to use for tracking/reporting my food intake. Sure would be nice if there was an app for the EVO. I have been using on that has a barcode scanner that is totally awesome!:D

javadragon 01-16-2011 02:44 PM

Yeah would love, love an Android app. Not a big Apple fan, so coincidentally don't have an iPhone. I'm a computer guy, don't get me started on that. Anyways, yeah we need an Android app! Is there another discussion on this somewhere in the forums?

jldaniels912 01-18-2011 12:36 AM

Another vote for an android app. My wife just switched over to another web site because *they* have an android app. I don't like the input on the other web site as much, but they do have a droid app, with a barcode scanner. I may need to switch.

zcubed 01-23-2011 08:45 AM

Yes Please

Had an iPhone it sucked too bad. Smart people are going with the droids. App please.

+2 votes for my wife and I.

I will have to check out the other sites that have a droid app.

stevendamore 01-23-2011 11:26 AM

Android App?

I can't seem to find the app for android in the market. I saw an advertisment for iOS but that was it.

Could someone help me by possibly linking me or giving me the correct keywords to search for? Thanks in advance! :)

mecompco 01-23-2011 11:29 AM

I'm pretty sure there is no FitDay app (yet) for the Android OS. Sorry.

Regards,
Michael

I just signed up for another web site and the droid app is nice. I re-entered my meals today easily from the barcodes. So long fitday.

jewelrymaker 01-23-2011 07:36 PM

I'd like to use it, too, when it finally comes out (assuming it does!).

asciikerr 01-24-2011 03:37 AM

Droid App Plz!

I'll admit, I am very thankful to FitDay, they helped me get from 250 lbs to 185 and looking good. :D

I am really hoping they have future plans for a Droid App, especially after using a competitors App and seeing just how much simpler life is via the App that would synchronize with the website and post or linkup to FaceBook.

Today's younger generation (which I am not a part of...) demand the be ability to zip through adding meals (Droid barcode scan) on the fly and update their info to the website (sync) and even log a post on their favorite social website (facebook/tweet/etc) to keep their people updated on their progress. The fact that other websites are already doing this via their own Droid Apps is a bit discouraging for those of us who still enjoy all that FitDay provides and then some.

Would I pay handsomely for said app if FitDay ever got it off the ground? You bet! Are there plans for this? Who's to say...but I can certainly see the writing on the wall and while I am thankful and loyal to FitDay for providing the tools that were instrumental in my transformation...I can't keep waiting for what's readily available and working now by their competitors.

They even have cool "tickers" (BBCode/HTML) that you can copy/paste into your favorite websites that act as real-time updates towards progress. *sigh*

Here's hoping for FitDay! :p

I do belive that this is something that's being worked on. Once it comes out we will make an announcement on the forums.

Adroid App is needed

In my opinion Fitday needs to get a Android app developed quickly, in the meantime check out http://www.fitday.com/fitness/ForumRules.html, this apps kick it, with a barcode scanner for your foods and a GREAT database of foods!

stacyhewlett 02-20-2011 07:40 AM

I use fitday and recommend it to others on a weekly basis. Would love to have an app for my droid phone. I haven't checked out any of the barcode scanner apps - might have to consider that, but don't want to leave fitday!! Come on developers - I'll buy your app!

MarenJWilson 02-20-2011 09:07 AM

another vote for Droid app

A Droid app would be handy, though I bought the full version long ago and have it installed on my computer. So, I don't know if the app would be as good.

eball73 02-22-2011 12:56 AM

Yes, Android App Needed

I just got my Droid - an app for the Droid would be very beneficial. Please develop one. Thanks!

rat3 02-24-2011 02:25 AM

Yes, I too would love an Android app! Please:)

get_strong_girl 03-02-2011 02:11 PM

FatSecret or SparkPeople

I have a droid and will never switch to Apple... here's another vote for FitDay to get a Droid compatible app... I have had both the FatSecret and SparkPeople one and like the FatSecret one because I can look up healthy options on popular restaurant menus - invaluable!

Drussian 03-06-2011 01:19 AM

Fit Day for android?

I see there is an app for the i-phone. How long untill someone develops an app for the Android platform?

fiskking 03-13-2011 04:13 AM

does anyone know if a Android app is slated for the future?

toofarwest 03-13-2011 06:58 AM

+1 to a Android app

But it took quite some time for a iphone app, hopefully good things come to those who wait.

ftcnative 03-23-2011 03:08 AM

Even tho I dislike "Me Too" posts, in this case, I want that app! Android, please?

ftcnative 03-23-2011 03:09 AM

+1 too! (pretty please w/ cherries on top?)

diannac65 03-23-2011 03:29 AM

I agree...Droid App Please!!!!!

I have just begun to use this program on the request of my practitioners. I would love an app that I could just scan in the bar and it would fill it in. I hate filling it all in and I know I could do this on my Droid the long way, but keeping a food diary isn't my number one favoriate thing to do, so doing it the long way on the Droid is less appealing. One more vote for the designers of this program to work on getting a Droid App! Thank you kindly.

bckraemer 03-23-2011 04:09 AM

Yeah, I just joined the site under the impression there was a Droid app.
Finding there is not, I probably will not participate.

What gave you the impression that the Driod App was up and running already?

01gt4.6 03-23-2011 08:44 AM

I believe this is one of the changes that we are looking at. No word on ETA yet.

embuchho 04-04-2011 07:45 AM

One more guy who would like a droid app for fitday....

I just book mark the web page in my browser on droid X and all my fit day info is at my fingertips...not much harder than using an app.

I find it much harder...my phone likes to surf for a while before getting to the actual page--the apps don't do that. Plus, using the page on that tiny screen is not easy. When an app is set up, it makes it easier to navigate the page.

I had the old PC version and it did not work on my new computer (bought 2 years ago). I found that highly frustrating. Would I pay again? Maybe, but I'd want the thing to work.

Good point. I may have to do this for the time being...

RayvinNyte 04-12-2011 04:31 AM

I too am looking for FitDay Android App!!! Please hurry Fitday!!
