Red face carb count

hi there I am new - from ontario canada - I am new at carb counting and appreciate any help - i have set a goal of losing 10 pounds via low carbs - setting daily intake at max 25 net carbs - when fitday.com calculates nutrition - are the carbs net carbs or just straight carbs ie are the sugars and fibers subtracted to give net carbs
i am new only a week and really blew my understanding of raspberries and blueberries - so i was over my daily - but now i know better - any other tips how to make sure on right track for low carb - to lose the weight - any advice is welcomed - thanks in advance, skyhills
