NEW! need help logging my own recipe

Hi there,

I'm new to fitday.com and I'm trying to log my foods for the day but I can't seem to find an option to build a recipe and have it added in so I can just select it for future. I don't know the calorie count yet...

Can anyone help?
Thanks!

recipie help

I have found a site that will let you get nutrition and calorie data on your own recipes. It is easy to use and gives you lots of information. Here is the link [removed]

if you go to custom foods and fill out the nutritional information there it will save it for you there for next time.

If I'm not mistaken, the poster was asking about recipe creation, not just custom food entering, and that feature is not a part of the web version, right?

I know of no way to build a recipe on this site, so if anyone knows otherwise, please advise.

I recently found a site that has a ton of recipes submitted by folks who are watching what they eat. Each one includes the nutritional data, as well as feedback from people who have tried the recipe (they rate it and add comments on what they changed to make it better or lower in calories). There is also a "tab" at the top of the page with a link to a calculator where you can search for and add ingredients to build your recipe to determine the total nutritional value.

I'm having the same problem. I went to custom foods, but I can't figure it out either (for example, I have 1/2 T. of peanut butter on toast for breakfast). I can only find 1 serving, which is more calories. I'll just stick to writing it down and use fitday to read the forums.

I usually put the ingredients of the recipe into the food log/ print it/ then divide it by number of servings. That (serving) is what I put into my custom foods. I keep the print out so I'll remember how I made it to start with.

When I only have 1/2 T of peanut butter I change the amount to 0.5 T and save the change to correct the total.

Hope that helps. There may be an easier way I just haven't found

I'm fairly new too

The way I have been dealing with this is going to Sparkspeople. It has a great recipe calculator, it's a bit of a pain, but I enter everything in there, figure out the nutritional values and then enter it in here as a custom food. Sparkspeople lets you save your recipes so you can go back to them again and again. Good luck!:)

Entering Recipes?

Help! I just joined FitDay today, but am at a loss as to how to enter recipes and then get the calorie count for one serving. Any help would be appreciated! (Is there a location to get basic "how to" info like this?) Thanks!
