How accurate are the estimates for Calorie Balance and which formula is used to calculate it?

the calorie balance as far as nutritional data goes is figured out for each items nutritional data/serving size multiplied by servings you enter. I find the best way to be accurate for this is to enter as many custom foods as possible into your food explorer, and get that information right off the label
