Default Success? How about a successful forum?

This is what I just emailed to [email protected]

The amount of spam that is being posted is crazy. I've reported thread, after thread and nothing gets done. The threads are still open & active and nobody has been banned. I would bet that if your PAID ADVERTISERS knew that random people can make spam threads about selling cell phones and such... and get away with it, for FREE, they would likely take their funding elsewhere.

I rarely see activity from moderators and have never seen anything from the Administrator. I'm a moderator on a very active board, I know it can be a thankless job, but the amount of activity (or lack there of) that FitDay.com gets could be controlled single handedly. Hell I'd venture to say that I'm more active than all of your moderators COMBINED. If they don't want to contribute to helping the board run smoothly, then why not find someone who will?

I will post this in the forums and if I had to guess, I will not get a timely response (if any) from Admin here or on the forum.

Also, what about a PM option or being able to use Avatars? Am I just being a whiner or does this bother anyone else? Feedback please since I won't get any from the FitDay "staff".

Yes the spam does bother me. It will just get worse if they don't do anything about it.

It definitely bothers me. I read the forums for others' experiences and tips - not their pathetic attempts at selling crap.

My next email, sent to [email protected]

Melissa,

I have a concern about advertising that I wanted to bring to your attention. I am an active Fitday member and I enjoy the site. I understand that there are expenses in running a site and those expenses are either offset or covered by paid advertisers, which is great. However, there has been a recent trend of blatant spamming. I, along with others have reported this on several occasions. I've even sent an email to Fitday and yet nothing gets done.

My question to you is... how would our paying advertisers feel if they knew that our Administrator and Moderators let people spam for free at their free will?

Here is what I'm talking about.

http://www.fitday.com/fitness/forums...800-280-a.html

http://www.fitday.com/fitness/forums...ch-9800-a.html

http://www.fitday.com/fitness/forums...avity-3-a.html

BTW you are the last person that I try to contact about this, next step is to notify our paying advertisers. I'm going to copy this email in post it up, I'll keep our member posted if I hear from you.

Regards,
Mike

If I was a paying member of this site, I would be pretty pissed off. You pay to browse this site advertisement free. They might as well just give everyone their money back, if they aren't going to moderate the boards.

we have more spam. My latest email sent:

more spam. I visit the forums multiple times everyday, I'd be happy to delete these if I were a Moderator... just a suggestion.

I would really like it if we had PM options and could have avatars! This forum is such a benefit to so many of us who need support in our pursuit of healthier lives. PM's would add so much to the experience and be a valuable tool in furthering our support of one another.

Also, the SPAM is extremely annoying!
