long standing problem

Hi all,
The inability to log sugar has been an issue for quite a while. I am not sure why. I know that there have been a couple of changes (albiet minor) to the website in the last few months so someone is still monitoring it somewhat. I think for the time-being we'll just have to keep track of sugars the old fashioned way.

Tracking Sugar Intake

I am really interested in tracking my sugar intake but can not figure out how to do this on FitDay. Is this possible?

Not sure exactly what you are asking..

When you say sugar, are you talking about your glycemic index... your sugar level as in diabetes, are you talking about carbs? are you talking about free carbs minus dietry fiber?

the sugar index is part of every food you eat, but sugar can be defined in many ways. Im a diabetic and take my sugar reading three times a day. If its between 80 and 120 I am good.

I understand what you are looking for. I love Fitday, but recently I discovered [link removed], which has sugar in their breakdown. It tracks the total grams of sugar through the day, along w/protein, carbs, fat, fiber and calories. Fitday is so much easier to understand, but no sugar in the mix. You are looking for total sugar grams in the products. I have been using the other program since the beginning of the month, but I always come back to Fitday, first, because it is easy to use, and I like the way the reports are shown, and two, I have so many custom products in here, I really don't want to switch.

Alcohol

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I don't know what the nutritional part means when it says ALCOHOL. Is this referring to the sugar content?

Thanks...

"Alcohol" refers to the kind that gets you drunk. As far as I know, FitDay does not track sugar at all.

Hello, I'm new to fitday also, but I think alcohol refers to wine, beer, etc. A way to test it would be to add a food w/ high sugar and no alcohol to your food log and see if the alcohol % changes, then add a glass of wine and see what happens.

It also refers to sugar alcohols, such as are used in some low-carb bars, etc. Supposedly, you can deduct sugar alcohol the same as fiber when figuring out net carbs.
