Exercising every day?

Is it OK to do a vigourous (sp?) workout everyday or should I be taking a day off to give my body a break?

If you mean weight-training, most muscle groups need a day off to recover. Calves and abs can be worked every day, lower back-twice a week.

For cardio, you can alternate hard and easy days, you don't have to take a day off. This is assuming you're recovering well, newbies may need to take days off.

cardio can be done everyday. Especially if you switch up the kind you do. Muscle groups for weight or strength training should be given 48 hours to recover, except as was said abs and calves. So for me i break the body up in 4 groups and rotate this allows the 48 hours between muscle groups
1) legs (quads)
2) deltoids and triceps
3) hamstring and chest
4) back and biceps
and i do cardio and abs after every weight work out.
works for my but ymmv.

And avoid high fat, processed foods like spam. Why do I have this strange feeling that in a couple days you're going to add spam to a signature? Just know if you do, you'll be banned, just like the others.
