Early bird, what motivates you to get up in the morning?

I'd like to get into a regime of waking up about 6:30 am and going to the gym (mainly because that is my optune moment to go).
But i'm finding it really tough to get out of bed in the morning, which isn't helped by the fact it is dark until about 8:00am here.
any tips? what keeps you motivated?

One thing that motiviates me is looking forward to posting a great workout - I love the "did you exercise" thread, and don't want to admit there that the pillow won in the alarm clock vs pillow battle.

I also make little promises to myself - "if you just get your teeth brushed, and still don't feel like being alive, you can go back to bed" (by the time I'm moving I'm likely to stay that way).

The friendly people at the Y, and at my bus stop also motivate me - they make me feel good I made it thus far.

Hope this helps!

Abby

Abby

Couldn't have put it better myself, I feel exactly this way when I wake up although I normally feel the chances of a alarm clock victory are against the odds. I haven't paid a visit to the 'did you exercise' thread, I can see how something like that can be a motivation.
I like the idea of making little promises to yourself but it takes me a while to wake up. I've even had times when i'm in my gym kit all ready to go, have done my streches and then fall asleep again :o
