Nothing like hearing your national anthem, as you watch the flag rise (wait, we were all Americans....) I couldn't have done it alone, I actually do mean that I heard you all cheering for me!

Abby

Those were just the hallucinations kicking in as you made that big push for the finish line

Hi all

Hopefully will be posting in here quite alot to try and find some answers to a few questions I have. First off I've been into running for the past 4 months and started off with 20 minute runs and I'm now entered in 10K race in 5 weeks, half marathon and Marathon next year so plenty of training going on which is all planned out and going well.

Just wanted to know what a decent first run at 20K is? I ran 20K in 1:56:27.

20.01 km Run in Milton Keynes on 5 Oct 2012 08:03 on 2012-10-05 | running Training Log Entry | MapMyRUN

I'm doing alot more speedwork over the next few weeks in prep for my 10k but up to now my training has been for endurance so I'm pretty sure I can shave a chunk off my 10k but obviously need to go out and do it first.

My targets for my races 10k - 49 minutes (current best 55.43) 1/2 Mara - 1 Hr 51 Minutes (No PB) Full Marathon - sub 4 Hours

I'd say that's a decent 20k time
I ran my 1/2 today which is 21k and I did it in 2:03,but I'm also 45...so yeah, I think you can definitely run a 10k in :49

Great work on the 1/2!!!

Just returned from morning run and thought I'd go after a new pb for 10k and managed a sub 50 minute 10k. 49 minutes 57 seconds

Nice!
I also just found out that the lead race guide had taken a wrong turn in yesterday's race which added a little over a 1/2 mile to the race

I'm looking at running another half at the end of the month and then a 20 mile race mid Nov.
I'm gearing up for the full 26 mile race on Dec. 2nd
