Since you already bought P90X, maybe this won't matter, but...I had tried to do the X a few times and always quit. At some point I actually bought P90 (had gotten the X from a friend). The P90 proved to be a great way to gear up to the X, plus a great way to get used to that 90-day committment. Then I did two rounds of the X (and I could actually do a couple pull-ups at that point!). I fell off the wagon a bit a few months ago, then started Insanity (which I also got from a friend). The Insanity is really intense, but I really didn't like it as much. Honestly, I missed lifting weights and I really missed Tony Horton. He's funny, he entertains me, I look forward to his jokes even though I know they're coming. Shawn T isn't quite the same experience somehow. Anyway, I ended up not even finishing Insanity. Instead I switched to a combination schedule mixing the weight lifting from P90X and the cardio from Insanity. I'm absolutely loving it! I'm going into my fourth week (recovery week) and the muscle gain over the last few weeks has been incredible. I've lost 11.5 pounds so far and have been taking measurements each week so I can see the progress. I went shopping today for some new pants!
I guess all I can say is, whatever program you do, do it right and work for those results!

that is awesome wannabefitgirl!
wowgirl88. You'll notice that they talk a lot about pressing play. Press play every day, unless you take the rest day that's allowed, but remember where the pause button is. Some people feel that if you can't keep up, take a break and let the video roll. I feel if you can't keep up (and probably won't be able to), pause it, take a quick breather then start it back up. To be honest after nearly 2 full rounds I still had a hard time keeping up. I think with plyometrics I finished it only once without pausing.

Yeah, it will be a pain because I'll have to use my laptop to play the DVDs (unless it sucks so hard I'll have to go buy a partable player of something), but I won't just let it keep playing. Got bootcamp this afternoon, and hopefully picking up the exersize bike from my sister's, so I can finally get the gym going at my cousin's place!
You might have seen in my other post, Mike, that I've started using shakes for breakfast and lunch when at work, cause I never eat during the day. Hopefully that will get the motabalism up and running!

do you forget to eat or just down have the time? Try to get your nutrients from food first, unless that's not an option. Oh BTW P90X will be total hell for the 1st few days, you'll wonder how in the hell you'll ver make it through, but it gets easier after about a week.

I have to agree . . . I'm on the first day of my second week, and it was easier than last week - I even did more reps than last week and used a 'heavier' resistance band. My muscles are still feeling everything from last week. I can't wait to get through this barrier. I feel good.
What we did to keep ourselves all revved up while we were waiting for it to arrive was to, each night, waste some time in front of youtube, looking at people's amazing transformations with it. It is really inspiring and motivates you to stick with it.
Did you get the guides with your DVDs?

I just tend not to eat. Even when I was younger I'd never have breakfast, now that I'm older and 'responsable', I just work through my lunch break. I used to play golf when I was in high school (practice every day, and 18 holes Sat and Sun), but I'd eat crap. When I stopped playing I kept eating the crap and that's when I started really packing it all on.
Yeah, the bootcamp I'm doing was like that. I almost walked out three times in my first session, for a few different reasons. As a big person I'm quite self-conscious (which I'm sure a few people here can relate to), and everyone else I'm training with are already fit, so I felt even worse than usual about myself, and cause I couldn't keep up it made it worse. But I swore to see that day through, then I thought long and hard about it and have committed to see the program through.
And Mike, I may have seen you on YouTube as well! I'vew been looking through, some of the people are extraordinary!
I should be getting everything that people get if they buy direct from BB. And if I don't, I'll be having words with the seller! I'm hoping it will arrive tomorrow so I can get into it.

I'm thinking of starting a blog, but not sure at this stage. If I do, am I allowed to link it in my sig? It won't be promoting anything aside from obviously saying what I'm using (The P90X and OptiSlim), but don't want to break board rules.
