Finishing up week 11 and feeling pretty good. I noticed I can do the superman-banana rolls a lot better these days; I can roll without hardly any help from legs or arms to give me leverage.

We had a cold front roll in yesterday too, so it went from 90s to 60s during the day and it's amazing how much less I sweat when it's cooler in the house. I really feel like I have way more energy, plus it's nice to not have sweat dripping off my body the entire time.

Labor day weekend..so it's time to buckle down and not overeat. Plus grad school starts next week and I'll have to manage that, plus the X workouts. Wish me luck!

Hi - I lost a total of 12 pounds and stopped - I talked with the owner of the curves I go to and she suggested watching my carbs, protein, fat and calories - I was not eating enough calories, fat or protein - my body was on "starvation mode" check these out and see if it helps any - way to go with the orginal loss!!!

Wow! I just started here, and saw these posts-we have the whole stinkin P90x system with bars and everything, sitting in our garage! We started it one
time and quit three weeks in, out of frustration. But after reading these posts and seeing pictures, I'm interested to try it again. My husband and I each have about 50 pounds each to lose, and our excuse for not doing P90x has been we were too fat to do it. LOL! we should just do it best we can and stick to it. We are both tired of being out of shape!

Thank you all for posting!

P90X is the real deal but like anything good requires commitment and it is not easy. The plyometrics workout is particularly brutal. The rest are ok. I am in decent shape, have been working out for years to varying degrees (but always something) and can get through all of the workouts feeling like I had a very good workout. However, plyo is no joke and I absolutely could not come close to finishing it the first shot. I have really good cardio strength, bike quite a bit, but still it was darn tough.

P90X is like fitday with its weight goal. If you stick to it you will benefit like mad. It's a very valid tool, but you will have to try and some days you will not want to do it, so you go through it anyway.

I may begin P90X in a couple of weeks.

Another workout I've heard is brutal is Insanity. I've seen the infomercial a few times and it looks brutal. Realize, I laugh at 99% of infomercials because they are jokes, but P90X isn't and insanity doesn't look like one, either.

If I was into spending $100/month right now I'd join the local crossfit group and do that because it can be nice having others to workout with.

I'm officially two days away from finishing my first round of the X! And I'm proud to say that I haven't missed a workout yet (fingers crossed nothing big happens between today and tomorrow to make me miss one). I did the lean doubles routine, and occasionally missed the double workout or swapped it for a long run, but never missed the actual day's scheduled workout.

The plan is to start round two right away. I' planning to do the classic in round two just to mix it up a bit. I see the Core workout is only done during the recovery week, but I might swap out Kenpo for Core on occasion. I really love core and the kenpo tends to feel too easy for me, unless I'm really tired or sore. I also still plan to do doubles workouts, but not necessarily doing CardioX every day. I might swap out an equal cardio routine (something not from p90x but still as effective) or go for longer runs. With grad school, I don't have time to do doubles on days I have class, but I'll just treat that as a mini-rest day.

Anyhow, I plan to keep my calorie range at 1800-2000 since that's where I feel best (not hungry too often, not overly full all the time). I also like to keep my carbs under 50% (a 40/40/20 split is usually good for me).

That's my plan, hopefully round two goes as well as round one. I'll be taking final measurements, etc., over the weekend. I know I didn't lose weight, but I feel great and my body looks fit, so that's good enough for me!

Simon, did you and your wife decide to do a round two?

I love P90X as well. My husband and I are doing it. We are not doing it ever day since something always seems to come up but at least it is there for when we can do it. I think that is the best part about it, it is there when you need it. You do not need a gym or babysitter so that cuts out lots of excuses.

We are not doing the diet or taking the suppliments. We are using these great bands we got from Fitness Depot instead of weights.

I keep wondering what we should do because I have weight to lose first so I am wondering what the thoughts are on this. Should I do this routine or something else first to help me lose the weight then start P90X?

Yes I have done the whole program 90 days lost 27 lb and felt in the best shape of my life. You have to follow all of it. It was the hardest thing I have ever done and I don't think I could ever do it again....

christine, I personally never lose much weight on the X, but it might depend on just how much weight you have to lose. I did Power90 and lost about 12 pounds, then did round one of p90x. My fitness level was also considerably improved from doing the prequel P90 and I was more able to handle the X workouts. That's just from my personal standpoint anyway, everyone is different.

pnut, I started my round two this week (I know the program says to take up to two weeks off before starting again, but the recovery week is already so easy that I just didn't feel the need to take even a week off and started up right away). I do cardiox in the morning (M-F), take a 30 minute jog, and do the regularly scheduled X workout after work in the late afternoon/early evening. My eating has been a lot better this week too (I was starting to slip and found myself binge eating a lot toward the end of my last round so I'm determined to get that under control this time). But so far I feel great; it's almost nice to have some muscle soreness back again (let's me know I'm making progress). I have an extended weekend coming up that will have me at a wedding and out of town with family so I'll have to keep myself on track while I'm gone, but I'm not terribly worried.

I do feel a bit frustrated that I can't seem to shed the last 5-10 pounds that I know I can afford to get rid of, so I'm hoping this round of the X will get me back on that path. I also found out that a friend has the insanity videos, which I might borrow after this round of p90x. Those videos kind of scare me, but after two round of the X, I might just be ready for it!

Best of luck to everyone else. Keep those results coming!

Hey there !

Yes we finished and went to Cabo and I have never seen my wife so relaxed about her body. She is the one now pushing us to do round 2 and after taking 1 month off doing some light running and relaxing I can say to you that we are now 4 days into round 2 !

Our goals are a bit different this time around. I am not planning on losing much weight this time but I still have more of a gut than I would like to so that is my goal. I believe she only lost 7 or 8 pounds but she went down like 4 sizes ? She is fit now and she doesnt care at all what the scale says because she knows how well the program works. Her goal is to fit into this sexy black dress she bought by the time her Christmas work party rolls around. She wants us to go in there and make all of their heads spin.

Also, grats in finishing your 90 days !!!!
