Disc golf (aka a walk in the park)
I wanted to share a recent low cost, low impact workout that I discovered: disc golf. For those of you that are unfamiliar with it, disc golf is similar to regular golf except you use special "frisbees" and try to get them in a chain basket instead of a hole. The courses are typically found in public parks, and they are usually free to use. A starter set of discs runs in the neighborhood of $20. I started doing this just as something fun with friends, but a couple of us realized that if we pick up the pace and jog from hole to hole, one can get a real workout from an 18-hole course. Even if you don't jog between holes it still comes out to be a fun walk in the park and a great workout for a couple of hours.
