Default Anyone Use a Jump Rope?

Was considering throwing it into my regimen. Does anyone do this regularly? what's your routine like? Do you use the ones with the weighted handles? what have your results been like?

Only works for me if I hold both handles in one hand, turn it on the side of my body and jump when it hits the floor. This way I do not trip, I do not miss, and I don't fall. Can do this for quite some time with out a mishap.

I've been jumping rope with the kids in the driveway. I don't use any specific routine or any special jump rope, we just jump rope like kids at recess with a good old Walmart jump rope. It's a pretty good workout, I always break a sweat and I generally try and make sure I have on a good sports bra.

I began using jump rope about 4 months ago, slowly at first and maybe twice a week so I could get used to it. Been since I was a kid since I had last skipped.

However, now I love the skipping factor. I dont use weighted handles yet, but plan on that in the future.

I do a plyometrics routine , twice a week on top of the other things I do.

part of that for me is:

Skip for 5 min warm up
jumping jacks x 20
skip rope x 100
burpees x 10

DO for 3 rotations then take a water break

Sometimes I will throw a single set of these into a weighted lifting routine as well to keep the heart rate elevated.
