I just found my way to this forum and found your post. I am hypothyroid as well. I don't know which diet is best but wanted to let you know that Atkins Phase 1 has helped me to lose 28.6 pounds in two months. I eat 5 small meals a day and I use a pedometer and add steps to my day wherever I can to boost my metabolism. I hope you find what works for you! Best wishes!

For those in our condition, the best diets are the protein based diets.
And of course, some exercise to keep you body moving, and boost your metabolism.
My doctor once said to me, when I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, that:
"The more you move, the more you are going to move"
It sounds silly, but it's true, the day where I move the most, is the day that I have even more energy to move even more.
So eat lots of protein, and exercise at least 30 minutes a day.
