Starting a Diet!
Hello! I am starting what I call a under 100 calorie diet! if anyone has any good diet plans please tell me!

I don't know of any good diet plans that are less than 100 calories...do you mean per day?

I don't think there is a diet in the world that is able to give your body all of the nutrients it needs in only 100 cal per day! What made you choose this number? Did you miss a zero by chance?

Even the highly restrictive HCG diets are 500 calories/day!!! Hope this is a typo?

Although I'm not sure you could really achieve your nutritional needs with a 500-calorie diet, you could easily fashion your own. For example:
Breakfast: Scrambled egg whites with grilled peppers and onions, using 0-calorie non-stick spray, with one slice of light rye Wasa bread (approximately 80 calories if you stick to serving sizes and there are far more peppers and onions than egg) Lunch: One of the Healthy Progresso Soups (anywhere from 50 to 90 calories per serving, which is 1/2 can) with another slice of Wasa (30 calories) and a wedge of Weight Watchers Swiss (30 calories) . . . for a total of 110-150 calories, depending on your choice of soup. Dinner: 1/2 medium zucchini cut into strips to look like noodles, sauteed in 0-calorie spray with a little onion, garlic and mushroom (approx 50 calories) with 1/4 cup meatless marinara (30 calories for the brand I have, think Heinz) and 1/4 small can of clams (25 calories) . . . total of 105 calories Snacks: a couple of rice cakes throughout the day (20 calories each for Fiorelli brand). You could even top one of the rice cakes with Babaganoush for flavor (20 calories) I have quite a few days I stay at 500 calories or less, but I wouldn't recommend it for extended periods of time. It just doesn't give your body what it needs to stay healthy, and, if you restrict your calories too much, your body basically freaks out and takes energy from muscle, not fat. Elan |
Okay thank you ill try that. Might not have enough time. That's why my post just get the message out. I dont think i put enough out. Right now i have a broken finger so i paused the diet. For now only!! And plus today is my brothers birthday and i had to cheat a bit!!! Thank you though. :)

500 calories a day. Hmm. Without adding vitamins pills or such like I can get ya down to just under 950 calories a day:
That should be fairly nutritious for its price in calories. :D Just kidding tho'. Really, I find that if I cut calories too much it backfires on me because I really start craving foods . . . especially foods that are bad for me. |
I agree with the other comments that too much calorie restriction backfires. I find that aiming for a 1-2 lb. per week weight loss (calories about 500 below daily needs) works best in the long run. Too low and we are fighting our body. Also, I find I don't stick to any eating program that isn't flexible enough to allow me to share some meals with family and friends. Social isolation isn't good for our emotional health.

phew, i was thinking 100 calories ... that is way too low. even 500 can be considered pretty low?

Hi I am following this diet plan, if you follow this diet plan then definitely you get more benefits from this.
Breakfast 1 cup corn flakes 1 cup orange juice 1 tablespoon honey Herbal tea Morning Snack 1 cup baby carrots 1 Tablespoon ranch dip Lunch 3 oz turkey 1 oz Swiss cheese 3 slices whole wheat bread 1 tablespoon mayo Lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles Afternoon Snack 1 cup plain yogurt 1 banana Dinner 3 oz baked tilapia 1 cup pasta 2 cups mixed green salad 1 tablespoon olive oil Lemon and vinegar |
I don't know how many cals that works out to, but it sounds better than 500! I still don't think I'd be able to eat the same thing every day... mabe for one meal, but not overall. I just really don't think you can get enough variety to get all of the nutrients your body needs. Vitamin supliments are great, but your body is ment to derive its nutrients through whole foods, not pills.

Don't know exactly how many calories I'm consuming but I just started a Green Smoothie cleanse/fast. I bet I'm around 500 +/-. I will add my GSs to FitDay calorie counter to check for sure. Please follow my thread called Green Smoothie Fast/Cleanse - so far on day 3, I'm down 1.5 lbs. :D

A medium-sized apple is a very healthy for afternoon snack which gives 100 calories.
you can enjoy 1 1/2 cups of chopped, steamed broccoli, 1 1/4 cups cooked carrot slices, 1 1/2 cups of sauteed green beans. If you like to eat mozzarella cheese then sprinkle 1 1/4 oz. of low-fat mozzarella cheese on your salad. |
I am just starting a diet and the reason is I have a friend who dropped weight very quickly... like more than 50 lbs in a year.... it is called the 28 day diet ... I started it yesterday and today I am down a pound....I have to work today so we will see how well I can do this... The bad part is you are to follow the diet exactly with no variations and that is tuff esp if you have a life or have kids....
