Doing the Zone, and didn't even realize it!
The Zone is 40% Carbs, 30% Fat, 30% Protein. Just realized, looking through the last week, that is what I am doing. Although, on several days, it look like I need a little more protein and a little less fat. I am on my first week, only lost 0.6 pounds (need to lose 45), but I did lose an inch in my waist, another inch in my hips, and one in my thighs.
This feels like a normal healthy, balanced way to eat to me. Anyone else doing The Zone? |
I am not doing the zone. My percentages are close, 30% Carbs, 30% Protein, 40% Fat.
I seem to lose weight better when my Protein is at 30% or greater. |
I checked my overall percentages (LOVE all the graphs and charts here on Fitday!), and it is 37% fat, 38% carbs, and 24% protein. I probably should up the protein a bit. It is hard to get enough protein and stay under 1500 calories, though. Lower carbs is hard -- I already feel pretty deprived!
