Question Best fruits to blend?

I have to say thank you guys very much for the suggestions on my last post! Last night I made a banana "smoothie/milkshake" and it was awesome!

The reason I like the banana shake is that bananas are not expensive, it takes only seconds to peel them, and it is all around pretty healthy and easy to make. (Also no "pulp")

Could you guys suggest some other fruits that have similar qualities?

Hunter

----Banana Shake I made ----

Hand Full of Ice
Cup of Milk
3 Bananas
Blend until liquefied
Drink then and/or chill.
(Makes a decent "italian ice" if you freeze it)

Google "green smoothies" and you will find all kinds of recipes for smoothies where you can also get your leafy green veg in (spinach, kale, etc.). They are not that hard to make and some are surprisingly good to eat. You need to learn how to do some kinda cooking Hunter lol. Hard to keep a healthy lifestyle if you don't know your way around a kitchen.

Congratulations on your smoothie discovery! You can add pretty much any fruit, but don't neglect vegetables, nuts and seeds. I made a really good smoothie yesterday that had strawberries, carrots, spinach, pineapple and banana. It sounds odd with the carrots, but it came out great. It helps if your blender can totally smash the carrots otherwise the consistency might be weird.

Hi Hunter, My entire family loves smoothies and we experiment all of the time. A few things have worked out really well. Dole (and most grocery store brands) freeze fruit. We like the blueberries, pineapple, and raspberries. Since they are frozen, you do not need ice and the drinks are even more flavorful. We also add plain greek yogurt (about 4 oz.) which is so health and ground flax seeds (no more than a tablespoon because of fat/cal.) for the omega-3. I usually use light yogurt as fat free uses so much sugar for flavoring.
