I'm a smoker as well and I would also like to quit. I smoke a lot out of boredom, I've noticed that on days I exercise more or I'm just more active in general I don't want to smoke as much.
I also smoke a lot when I'm driving, just out of habit, so I've stared leaving my cigs at home when I'm running errands.
I'm not saying that I'm "quitting" because that seems to make me want to smoke more and I always wind up failing and feeling bad about it so, it just seems like I'm slowly starting to eliminate them without even thinking about just by changing a few habits.
Right now, I'm still smoking, just not as much... hope this helps at least a little. When I ask for advice I get tired of hearing the same things over and over again so try to think a little bit outside of the box!
Don't spend time beating on a wall, hoping to transform it into a door.
