Vito, you're a good candidate for a heart rate monitor. If you train by heart rate, your time will improve at the same rate as your fitness without forcing it/being tempted to "race" your workouts.
RbS, as long as you've done some 9-10 mile runs, you'll be fine on race day.
Taper and be well rested and adrenaline will carry you the rest of the way.
