Ever since I read Gary Taubes notorious tome Good Calories, Bad Calories I've been skeptical about calorie-counting. Also, the good effects of weight lifting have more to do with building muscle mass than burning calories, although studies suggest that muscle does "burn" more calories than fat tissue.

In any case, well-developed muscles are a good thing. So carry on.
