Protein/carb/fat ratio
Hi, all, I'm new here. How do you figure out what the ratio should be between protein, carbs and fat? Everything I read is different. Some say it should be 40/40/20 but I think that's heavy on the carbs. How do you know what's right for you?

The reason everything you read is different is because there are many different answers. It truly is different for everyone. As far as I know, trial and error is the only way to figure out what really works best for you.
There are lots of other threads where folks have shared their thoughts that could be helpful to you, just use the search tab and see if you can hit on some of them. The people here do all different percentages but I think everyone will agree that it's a pretty individual decision. When you get it, you will know. Good luck!

Fruits and veggies are carbs. So, being heavy on the carbs may mean you're eating more whole foods, and getting more natural vitamins and minerals. There is even a high-carb diet that has some followers - and they do lose weight. A high-fiber diet was kind of popular, and some people still follow it, and it is 'high in carbs.'
In short, carbs are varied. Just pick the ones that give you the most for your calories (fiber, etc.)
