Most cereals will list about 140-190 calories per serving, with approx. 50 more to account for what they consider a serving of skim milk. So that's about 190-240 calories per meal. You would lose weight by replacing a meal with any 240 calorie food, if those meals are usually more than 240 calories. If it's working for you and you feel satisified, then good on you and congratulations for finding something that works. Personally, I can't feel satisfied for very long on cereal, so that type of "challenge" would leave me miserable and I would probably end up binging in the end out of (percieved) starvation.
