Default Excited (and scared) to get started

I grew up being cautioned to watch my weight although I was never overweight. The result was eating too few calories and an obsession with exercise. After college graduation I had high stress jobs that required sitting at a desk all day and my weight just kept creeping up.

I have worked in healthcare and know what foods I should be eating. But even though I eat whole grains, lean meats, fruits and veggies I can't leave the sugar and fat (hello dairy my love) alone! My metabolism has been so ruined that I need lots of exercise to see any movement on the scale.

I am looking for support as I try eliminate all the excess from my diet and lose 40 pounds by this fall.
