Yup, ladies, me too. If I totally gave up sugar, I'd never have to track my calories. But then, I wouldn't have the privilege of giving and receiving support from you all
. Amazing, how my defense mechanism of rationalization sounds so...rational to me!
For me, sugar is absolutely an addiction and there's a real physical component. Usually when I do buy sweets I get the individual serving sizes in VERY limited quantities. That way I let the manufacturer limit my portion size. I pay more but it helps. I agree with everyone else that not eating it in the first place will lessen the cravings as time goes on. I just haven't hit that level of readiness to totally abstain forever. Yet. But I usually limit myself to once a week when I am trying to decrease body fat.
