Nutrition weight gaining bars?
My best friend brenda is having a really hard time gaining weight. No she does not have an eating disorder... she's like 5'3? And weighs 94 pounds. She used to weigh like 113-115, so shes lost about 20 pounds. Not purposely, she eats a lot actually and smokes so you think she'd weigh more. Well anyways she wants me to help her find nutrition weight gain bars, No supplements cause most of them would affect her birth control, or they're not approved by the FDA. anyways google isnt much help, all I keep finding is weight LOSS bars. Anyone know of the right thing to buy? Got a website I could look at? Thanks

Smoking will speed her metabolism and being on birth control will lower her weight too. If she quite smoking she will do herself a big favor, especially being on the birth control, that is dangerous! However, Balance bars are good - they are about 200 + calories each and delicious!

I'm going to second the "quit smoking" suggestion. Everyone that I've ever known who quit smoking gained weight, 20 pounds minimum. Actually at 93 pounds she's not that much underweight. I'm 5'-2" and don't cross into the underweight category until I get down to less than 99lbs. So at 5'-3" she's probably only 10-15 pounds underweight.
As far as bars go I like the Pure Protein bars, they are about 200 calories also. The Chocolate Deluxe taste like chocolate covered Tootsie Rolls to me. The other thing I would suggest she try are peanut butter, whole grain bread, beef, whole milk, pork, lamb and real butter.
