Default Oatmeal

I just found out that a serving size of oatmeal is 1/2 cup cooked. So my question is - How much dry oatmeal makes 1/2 of cooked?

Help!!!

Well when I make it, it turns out to be a little less than a cup I think.

I make my own 'instant' oatmeal a week at a time and have it portioned out, but I have been using 1/2 C oatmeal with my spices, ect. Just need to know how much I should use to make 1/2 C cooked....

hmmmm, I have to look at mine when I get home to see if I'm doing it right. I use 1/2 c oats & 1 c water.
on a side note... I add a good bit of cinnamon and small squirt of Carey's sugar free syrup.

I guess it depens on how much water you use. I'd guess if it's a 1:1 ratio then a 1/2c cooked would be 1/4c of each, since the oats will absord all the water.

I don;t measure the liquid, I just measure the oats. I use cinnamon as well, and I also use nutmeg and ginger.. hmmmmmm

I also eat it cold with the same spices, some honey and vanilla silk - and then I eat it with forzen berries! My favorite 'before gym' snack!

I think that is an error. The box says one serving is made with 1/2 c oats.

1 serving oatmeal = 1/2 cup dry cooked with 1 cup water = 1 cup cooked, according to the box.
