Unhappy Struggling after thyroid removed

I am struggling losing weight. I had my thyroid removed on Sept. of 2009. They have just now got my medications under control, but I still don't have as much energy as before the surgery. I am 5ft 2inches and right now 193lbs. I started on June 20th at 196lbs. I go to the gym every other day and work out religiously for at least an hour to two hours. I fell off the treadmill yesterday trying to jog because I thought this would help burn even more calories! I have cut down on my calories to 1000-1300 a day. I just can't seem to lose the weight faster or have engery. I need a buddy or some advise on how to jump start my metabolism without taking OTC pills or HCG. Does anyone have any diet tips or exercise tips that may help with this. I am to the point that I am ready to quit exercising and just stay fat.
