Default Hello, Need Help Please

Hello! My name is Elizabeth and I'm going to be turning 21 on the 19th of february. My height is 5'3 and I'm 176. I started this fitday profile to track and get help because I was at 172, but I started taking these pills called super HD and gained 4 pounds. Will soon be taking CLK (long story short) is just a boost to help S. HD. I'm doing insanity and tomorrow will be my third day in a row. I did start 3 weeks ago, but I've been off and on with these workouts missing no more than 3 days a week. I'm an athletic person so I don't have a problem with high intense workouts. The part that I need help with is my eating and getting use to building muscle. 2 years ago I use to do pure cardio with eating healthy and a few times a week eating unhealthy and loose weight like crazy, but now that I build muscle with insanity, should I just stay to a strict diet? I am confused because super HD is suppose to help you loose the pounds (which I think to see on the scale as well), but I do not. I actually gained with the not as strict diet and a few cheating times and I'm pretty confused with the muscle gaining thing. I'm guessing gaining muscle is not as easy and taking off the pounds by itself.
