Eating foods that are high in high fructose corn syrup can be bad for your health. In general, many processed foods contain high levels of high fructose corn syrup. High fructose corny syrup is basically an alternative to natural sugar. But, unlike natural sugar, your body can take up to three days to fully digest high fructose corn syrup. This can lead to a variety of health dangers. You need to be aware of these health dangers before you eat anymore foods containing high fructose corn syrup. Here are some of the health dangers you need to look out for when it comes to high fructose corn syrup.

1. Obesity

Though experts are continuing to study the effects of high fructose corn syrup on the human body, one thing has become clear over the course of the last 30 years: Americans have gotten more obese. And, it should come as no surprise that people like you have suffered as a result of high fructose corn syrup. The human body cannot break down high fructose corn syrup as easily as it can break down natural sugar, so this has led many people to gain weight over the years.

Additionally, there are many, many processed foods that contain high fructose corn syrup. From soda and certain types of candy to fruit juices and even bread, high fructose corn syrup is used in almost anything that's processed at a plant. This means that everyday you may be eating something that takes up to three days to fully digest!

2. Diabetes

In the past, sweets were the main culprit behind diabetes. But, the truth is that you probably drink at least a couple cans of soda everyday. All of the high fructose corn syrup that's contained in soda is causing many people like you to get diabetes. This means that for the rest of your life, you will have to sit and monitor your blood sugar levels because of high fructose corn syrup.

3. Coronary Disease

As if being obese isn't enough, high fructose corn syrup affects many of the human body's internal organs like the heart, too. If you eat too much high fructose corn syrup, you're putting a real strain on your body. If you gain weight, this forces your heart to work harder. As a result, high fructose corn syrup ends up causing many people like you to suffer from heart health dangers.

4. High Blood Pressure

Eating too many foods with high fructose corn syrup can lead to high blood pressure. The only way to help bring high blood pressure back down is to lose weight and cut high fructose corn syrup out of your diet.

To date, there are still many studies being done to find out just how bad high fructose corn syrup might be for the human body. In the future, there will probably be more health dangers associated with high fructose corn syrup. But for now, these are just a few of the health dangers that you will run across if you eat too many processed foods loaded with high fructose corn syrup.
