You Can Eat More and Still Lose Weight-- Here's How

It seems like a new diet comes out every day.  Each has its strong points for getting the body slimmer.  You wrestle, dabble, toil, and even struggle against the odds. You have likely tried avoiding carbohydrates and fats...still the progress is slow.  You tell yourself "I eat too much" and you feel guilty when you stray away from your program.  Eating what you love almost becomes a crime.  You wish for a diet that is actually easy to stay on.  You hope for a way to lose weight without having to deprive yourself and suffer but it doesn't have to be this way.  

Eating can actually speed up your metabolism, especially if you focus on the right kinds of food.  It is important to build a healthy diet with enough calories and nutrients to keep you going and also the right balance of nutrients to keep you healthy.  

Getting the Right Kinds of Food:

High in Fiber
Fiber-rich foods contribute to a sense of fullness.  We are less likely to binge on sweets and fatty junk food when we feel satisfied from our meals.  Emphasize vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, nuts and seeds.  

Low Glycemic Index
There is nothing harder than battling sugar cravings when on a weight loss program.  That is, when our blood sugar is low, we will naturally crave sweets.  Try to satisfy your hunger with protein rich foods that will help restore your blood sugar gradually.  When we eat a sweet food to get our energy up, we can create a pattern of highs and lows which will likely lead to more craving and low energy.  You can find a glycemic index online.  

Good Fats
Not all fats are created equal.  Some may actually help with weight loss.  Definitely making sure there are essential fatty acids in the diet will help.  They contribute to a better mood, an increased energy level, clear skin, digestive regularity, cardiovascular strength and more.  Coconut oil is also a wonderful product to use because it has a kind of fat that helps to maintain energy levels during exercise.  

Loose Weight While you Sleep!  
When you increase your lean muscle mass your body becomes more efficient at burning fat, even at night.  Ensure you are getting adequate protein for your level of exercise so you keep the muscle on.  B vitamins help support metabolism and are needed for producing energy.  Thermogenic herbs, like bitter melon, will increase the body's temperature and promote a healthy metabolism.  

When you clean up the diet and change to nutrient rich foods, weight loss seems to naturally happen.  This is a reflection of the body normalizing itself.  Generally, when you focus on feeling good and improving your health overall, you will notice your body becoming lean.  Each health promoting addition to your regime can increase your chances of success.
