How to Beat Cellulite with Yoga

Nothing can cause more horror than to look in the mirror and see cellulite beginning to form on the smooth skin of your legs and buttocks. But before you go ballistic and stock up on anti-cellulite creams and serums, why not turn to yoga to get rid of the cellulite?

Here are a few poses to do that will help you to banish your cellulite effectively:

  1. Chair Pose -- This pose is brilliant for your legs, and if you lower yourself far enough you'll feel the tremble in your glutes and hamstrings. This exercise is guaranteed to get the blood flowing to your legs, and you can burn away the leg fat that is causing your cellulite!
  2. Standing Forward Lean -- This will help to stretch the muscles in your lower back, glutes, and hamstrings, and you'll feel it all the way down to your calves if you do it right. There will be a bit of shake in your legs as the muscles do the work of holding you in the stretch, and it will help to smooth out the skin that is beginning to dimple.
  3. Eagle Pose -- Want a pose that works your legs like a rockstar? Eagle Pose causes you to squeeze your thighs, clench your core, and use your legs to keep your balance. You may not feel the workout like you would with some of the others, but the muscles are making lots of tiny contractions that will help to burn fat and smooth out your skin.
  4. High Lunge with Twist -- Get into the Runner's Pose, and twist your body toward the bent knee. Tuck your elbows outside of that leg, and hold the Twisted Lunge pose. Your foreleg will be quivering as you hold yourself in place, and you'll feel the stretch along the back of your straight leg. Not only does it boost circulation and increase detoxing, but it will give your lower body a great cellulite-blasting workout!
  5. Warrior III -- If you're ready to challenge yourself, this is a brilliant anti-cellulite workout. Holding your leg at a 90-degree angle to your body is no easy task, and you'll feel the tremble in your glutes and lower back. This will help to get rid of a lot of the cellulite around the back of your thighs with just a few minutes of practice every day.
  6. Supported Shoulder Stand -- This exercise engages your core and glutes to hold your body straight up off the ground, and you'll feel it in your buttocks. It's one of the best exercises for a stronger midsection, helping to burn the fat that could cause cellulite formation.
  7. Bridge Pose -- Place your feet flat on the floor, bend your knees and use your core muscles to lift your lower back and buttocks off the ground, with only your shoulders touching the floor. It's a brilliant lower back/glute workout, and it will help to get rid of a lot of the fat around the trouble zones.

Do these yoga exercises every day for just a few minutes (no more than 20), and you'll find that you really can beat cellulite!
