Valentine's Day is the most romantic holiday of the year, but that doesn't mean you automatically have to opt for (non-diet-friendly) chocolates, candies, and alcohol. Instead, why not turn your Valentine's Day into a date that's as health-friendly as it is romantic? Try these health-friendly Valentine's Day date ideas below.
- Ice skating – What could be more romantic than bundling up and going ice skating with that special someone? Ice skating is an excellent workout, one that will burn a lot of calories and shred your leg muscles. You can end the ice skating session with a nice cup of coffee or green tea!
- Hike – Hiking isn't the most romantic activity, but wait until you get those panoramic views from atop the mountain. If you really want to make it a special outing, bring a thermos filled with chilled wine and a healthy picnic. You'll more than burn off the calories on your hike up and down the mountain.
- Camping – What could be more romantic than the two of you enjoying the beauty of nature, alone with no distractions? This isn't the day to "rough it" — instead, bring all the comforts you could want: electricity, a grill, good food, a comfortable air mattress, warm sleeping bags and blankets, and a spacious tent.
- Dancing – It's Valentine's Day, so it's time to do the things she loves even if you're not fond of them. If that means dancing, so be it! Dancing is amazing exercise, and a whole lot of fun once you get into it.
- Yoga – At the end of a long, stressful work day or week, there's nothing that relaxes you quite like a good yoga session. You can take a yoga class together, or why not try couples' yoga? By the time you walk out of that class, you'll both be calmer, more relaxed, and ready for an evening of chilling and romance.
- Run a race – The couple that runs together stays together, right? See if you can find a Valentine's Day race to sign the two of you up for. Not only will you be able to spend time running together on the day of the race, but it will give you something to train for together in the weeks and months leading up to the big event.
- Play tennis – A bit of healthy competition is always a good thing! If you're both sporty tennis can be a fun game to play. Have a singles match of you against your partner, or team up to play doubles against friends or another couple. After your game of tennis, head to the bar for refreshments and relaxation.
- Water sports – What could be more fun than hitting the local water park, swimming pool, or beach for a day of sun and swimming? Of course, water sports may not be available if you live in a cold climate, but there may be indoor swimming options available. Swimming is excellent exercise, and it's a great way to relax and enjoy your partner's company.
